In the changes to IE, there is now a Download warning that pops up when any
download is attempted to the computer. First, there's a "warning
bar" (about the size of the status bar on the bottom of the browser,
but drops out of the bottom of the top of the browser over the top edge of
the page being displayed, that alerts you that a download is being
attempted. If you want it to continue, you click the bar (instructions are
right on the warning bar). It can be turned off in the Security settings
area of the Internet Options. I think this even pops up when scripts and
such attempt to download something in the background, to alert you
something is happening you aren't aware of.
