Went out at lunch, and now I *have* seen one... a Barton 3000+. It had a
tan substrate, altho a   
lighter tan than the ones I have around here. The label is indeed black
(there was no doubt you   
were correct) with white lettering. The top of the die is unique too, in my
experience... it has   
sort of a reddish tint, speckled with gold flakes! There are no markings on
it, save what appears   
under a 3x magnifier to be some sort of Chinese character surrounded by a
square. Wish I'd had   
access to a higher power magnifier!  I'll try to check later.  
 
Anyway, I'm *still* glad to see that the information isn't on a sticker! :^)
