RD> Any signs of a remake of the Pirates and wenches in Orlando?
Alas, 'tis true. The Florida Pirates have already been bowlderized. 8;-(

There are three turntables in the ride that provide chase scenes.
Originally (or at least from 1987 through 1995), the first two had
pirates chasing comely wenches, and the third had a hefty wench chasing
a scrawny pirate. I had always though it reasonably amusing and
unoffensive.
Now the first scene has two pirates carrying off a big trunk loaded with
loot. The other two scenes have comely wenches brandishing rolling pin
and broom and chasing pirates. Not particularly funny, even without the
inevitable comparison to what came before. The buy-a-wench scene is
unchanged.
One can only hope the PC Police don't ever shut up long enough to listen
to one of the park's better attraction themes. If they ever find out the
pirates are bragging about rape it's sure to be put on the hit list,
too. I can almost imagine it: sailing through scenes of pilliage,
plunder, arson, and drunken revelry to the strains of "It's a Small
World"...
There is a proposal on r.a.d.p to hold a peaceful (but rowdy)
demonstration at the park on Pirates' last day. Buy youselves one
earring and wait for the call.
