The first race of the 1996 season is coming up for the Sequim Bay
Yacht Club!
It is the Hospice Race, scheduled for April 6.
The race course is in the area outside of Sequim Bay, bounded by
the Dungeness Spit and Protection Island.
It's a one day affair, with course length varying from 10 to
about 25 miles.
Proceeds from the race are donatated to the local Hospice
foundation.
If you are in the area or just visiting and are interested in
joining in, additional information can be obtained through the SBYC,
(360) 683-1338, or drop me a line here. I don't have all of the
details as yet, but will gladly do my best to get the information
to answer them.
There have been some "landlocked" sailors that have been in this
area for other races and where able to get rides on some of the
boats as crew. My skipper keeps a "waiting list" of potential
crewmembers to help all of the boats have an adequate crew to
keep as many boats sailing in the racing fleet as possible. We
would gladly add your name to a temporary list and do our best
to accomodate your travel plans.
Have a good, safe boating season!
... Hey Racers... it's MYLAR time!
