Rod, I tried putting the old motherboard back in (before David's suggestion!) and there was no change, there was no files visible. However, I was not able to run fdisk, to check the partition info was the same. OS/2 2.1 boot diskettes had a failure, "fdisk error", so had I wanted to, I couldn't have installed OS/2 2.1!!! OS/2 warp wanted a CDROM in before going any further, which would have meant more changes, so I just went to the prompt instead. Couldn't find fdisk anywhere in sight though, so just left it at that and went back to my new motherboard. BFN.
