Then, run db> "CHKDSK E: /F:2" - following this, run "CHKDSK E:". Repeat cycle until db> any/all errors disappear. No errors other than "no root directory, will try anyway". db> After the CHKDSK cycling, see if you can *carefully* wander through the db> directory structure - say, "DIR E:\ /A /S /-P" .. then copy stuff off the db> drive so somewhere else, reformat and rebuild. It's the only way to be db> "absolutely sure", as opposed to "pretty sure".
