Whose replacing the drive for you? Maxtor or selling vendor? What was the
warranty? I've got two Maxtor Drives I bought at Staples. A 120 and a
160. The 160 is fine, but for the past 5 months there is a daily error
message in my win2k application/system event logs that says the 120 meg
drive is predicting it will fail replace it immediately. The
"bad" drive does have a large number of bad sectors that I had to
use NDD to identify, but once I did this it hasn't given me trouble as a
backup storage drive.
I'm wondering if I should seek a warranty replacement or just continue to
ride the thing for a while?
