My old Thinkpad is set up to prompt before downloading auto-updates, and prompt again before installing them. I saw no prompts. I got the new Security dialog after installing the cumulative IE6 patch. I did nothing else to that system in the time that it was booted up last night. I pulled it out of the case, plugged it into the network, and booted it up specifically to check for this feature. It had the old dialog box. Then I went to WU, and only one update was listed, the one I cited. I installed it, which required a reboot. Upon rebooting, the new dialog was there. At no time did I see the little globe auto-update thingy in the taskbar. --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 396/45 106/2000 633/267 |
