On the 19/05/96, Brenton waffled to Paul.. Hello Brenton, PE> the old 540 meg drive, and everything is fine, with LBA support PE> (but still "large") and it appears on boot manager. BV> You *should* have made sure that it read Standard or Normal. BV> If you select anything other than Normal, then you will have to redo BV> the partition tables and reformat the drives. If you have written BV> ANYTHING to the drives, they are fucked and you'll have to redo the BV> entire lot from the FDISK stage. Only if he is lucky - I had one a week or so ago where a 1gig drive would not format over 30 megs, no matter what I deleted and changed around in FDISK. In the end, I zeroed out the first few sectors using a disk editing tool. I assume that was caused by the LBA switch - of course I only get _partial_ information. The rest they don't tell you. Dieter ... Shut up, or I'll nail your other foot to the floor. ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.12 @EOT: ---* Origin: Mirbachs MadPoint (3:711/934.8) SEEN-BY: 711/934 @PATH: 711/934 |
