CG> What's *with* all you garbage-disposal guys?
Hey! Who do you think you're calling a "garbage-disposal guy(s)"? :)
CG> Whatever happened to vermicomposting, making great
CG> potting soil out of your kitchen refuse?
I *do* compost ... outside. But most American households have a disposal
installed at the time the house is built. It is almost impossible to use a
sink
without the line (and so, the disposal ... or am I just too messy! :)
Whether
one has a disposal or not, lines still can smell, but that's another story...
I can just imagine my husband's reaction if I began composting in the
*house*! Oh my. My name is "mudd" most of the time (he doesn't share my
enthusiasm for crafting (nor "saving"... unless it is computer parts, that
is :)
He's been pretty good about it all (of course, he should be... he's endured
for some 34 years, now :)
I *am* interested in your ideas, tho, and read with relish, each time you
share
a post with us about your worm bins. We have a daughter in the Pacific. I
need to get her outfit hooked-up with some help in getting things set up to
do composting. The islanders are used to composting, but only for their
aro
pits... I need them to carry it further, as we are interested in helping
them get
herb/vegetable gardening started in the villages. They have pretty poor
nutrition, over-all, ) and this would be very helpful.
Well, I've rambled on for longer than I intended, so it'll teach you for
calling me
names! :) You should *know* what a "bucket of worms" you open up when
you pick-on a woman (and I'm a *little* woman, to boot! :)
cheers,
WL Sakowski
