 If you have Internet access, I have a picture of a radial Diesel engine that 
was mainly designed for use in an Army tank, but was also certified for use 
in aircraft. It's at www.oldengine.org/shows/findl97.htm.
Also, you might check into connecting with the OLD_ENGINE echo, it's 
specifically oriented towards older engines, both steam and I.C.
