Hi, Jack;

JS> This morning I saw a news item on CNN that the government is relaxing
JS> much of their top-secret atomic bomb testing information along with
JS> many films of heretofore unseen tests. Of the statements made, the
 JS> [snip]
II> On top of that, consider how much mis-information and dis-information
II> has come out of DC over the years. Case in point: Roswell! First it
II> was a weather baloon. When that lie wasn't believed they came up with
II> a few other O-FISHY explainations, including a rocket test with
II> monkeys, a super-secret Russian A-bomb detector, test dropping dummies
 II> to learn
 JS> [snip]
JS> Just off the top of my head, the only things I can think of the
JS> government has withheld the facts of are the atom bomb tests made
JS> in the 1950s with soldiers used in close proximity with which to
JS> test the effects of radiation fallout. This was later admitted to
JS> (40 years later). Also the agent orange incidents in Vietnam.
JS> ...And the possibility that our troops in the Gulf War were
JS> affected by toxic gas from Iraq.

Yes, those are PROVEN lies, (or at least incorrect information in the
case of the A-bomb tests, because the effects of radiation weren't known
at the time). As far as agent orange and the Gulf war, IMHO, the Govt
knows more than they are telling, probably because if they admitted
everything they know, it would co$t a few billion in lawsuits and give
Uncle Sam a black eye.

JS> None of this is proof that they lied about aliens at Roswell.

Then praytell, why don't the (alleged) witnesses tell of seeing something
which looked NOTHING like a crashed baloon - and I don't care of it was
a Project Mogul or a weather baloon? What the witnesses report was
perhaps the SIZE of a large baloon, but a baloon is soft and floppy, but
whatever "it" was was solid. And why did they report non-human humanoid
bodies in and around it?

Definitions:

Humanoid (simplified): Having the general shape of a human being, (2
arms, 2 legs and a head), and appear to be able to walk upright.
Monkeys and some other animals fall into this catagory.

Non-human: A living, (or once-living) being which is/was not what we
think of as human, ie: looking generally like us.

Notice that I have not made the flat statement that there WERE Aliens
found at the Roswell site PERIOD! Witnesses (alleged witnesses,
actually), reported seeing short hairless beings which match the
general description of what are now referred to as "Grays."

When you launch a baloon, you have no control of where it comes down...
it is completely at the mercy of the winds! Sure, with accurate upper
wind forcasting, (which they did not have in those days), you can
predict APROXIMATELY where it MIGHT land, and if you have a timer in it
that causes it to deflate and drop after so many hours, you could cause
MOST of them to drop into the ocean somewhere, (assuming that the winds
are what have been predicted). There was also a method developed early
in the space race for snagging a parachuting space capsule out of the
air, and this was used to recover film packs from early spy sattelites,
but this method was not 100% effective. So _IF_ it was a Project Mogul
detector, would ALL of them have either dropped into the ocean or been
recovered? I think not. There should have been more of them found
around the country... or the world... but that was apparently the only
one! Was that the ONLY Project Mogul baloon??? Somehow I kind of doubt
it, (assuming that there really WAS a Project Mogul, that is).

JS> ...And it's understandable why they deny the existance of "Area-51."

Admitting the existance of a place and keeping it's contents secret are
two entirely different things! Look at the Pentigon. HUGE building,
and everyone knows that there are secrets in there that are impossible
to obtian unless one has a super-secret security clearance. We, (John
and Jane Q. Citizen), are barred from getting a look at Area 51, but
any country with satelite technology is welcome to take all the
pictures of it they want, and the Russians will be MORE than happy to
sell you pictures of it taken from orbit... for a price! (I have seen
a couple of them). What goes on there is among the U.S.'s best-kept
secrets, (though there are those who claim to have leaked information),
but it's existance is the worst kept secret on the planet. I have
heard Art Bell, (admittedly not the most reliable source of
information), tell of busses parked in his little town of Pahrump, NV,
with big signs on them, "AREA 51", picking up loads of passengers going
there to work. (Sounds a little strange, I know, but these were NOT
tour busses!)

JS> The "weather balloon" story was used to cover up the "Project Mogul"
JS> test balloons which was later said to include test dummies and that it
JS> was part of a secret project to test for radiation from possible
 JS> Russian Atomic bomb tests.

Uh huh... sure. And please tell me what can they learn about radiation
from dummies that they couldn't learn from a piece of film in a light-
tight envelope that gets exposed by radiation? Sorry, Jack, that one
doesn't wash. Want to know how much radiation goes through a human
body? Gimme a break, Jack. They can do that with an X-ray machine or
a chunk of uranium or other radioactive material in a lead-shielded
room.

JS> ...Just little white lies in the interest of National Security,

Harumph!!! My mother told me that there is no such thing as a "white"
lie...they are all blacker than coal!

JS> Ivy. None of this proves the existance of aliens.

No, there is no publically known PROOF of ET's, but then there is lots
of CIRCUMSTANCIAL evidence - and less convincing evidence in courts of
law has condemned people to death many times.

JS> Not even the testimony from the descendants of the original Roswell
JS> residents proves that aliens were involved in any crashes in that
 JS> vincinity.
