KF> Canada's birthrate, despite the statement quoted, is not

Thanks for the info. I decided to get out my 1992 World Almanac &
snoop around. Lots of interesting projections on the population.
It even showed that population among more developed regions of the
world are going to rise from 1.2 billion in 1995 to 1.4 billion in
2025. Meanwhile in Less Developed regions the 1995 population of 4.4
billion will grow to 6.8 billion by 2025. Now, there's a cold hard
fact that supports _my_ original idea - for zero population growth,
we need to focus on the less developed areas of the world! :)
KF> I don't know what the US stats reveal, but for us, maintaining

Another problem that is not addressed by those who advocate severe
population declines. While population growth, unchecked, is a bad
thing for this old planet, population decline can also be a bad
thing for us humans. :)
We gotta find the balance. :) Wild proclimations by either extreme
are probably not to be bothered with... :)
