Hello Sal, You might have to do what I ended up doing. I had to run
seperate isolated line from the breaker box to my audio area and my office
for my computers and audio gear there. I used hospital grade plugs (very
important!) and a good quality conduit in addition to the best wire I could
find. I only wanted to do it once and have it work correctly so I spent about
$50 more than I could have gotten away with. I had each line grounded all the
way back to the box. Sometime later I installed a second box and moved just
the audio and computer lines over to it.
Before the wiring, everytime someone used something in the kitchen I
heard it through my system. No amount of type of surge, EMI filter or line
isolation and stabilization units would stop it. I could also hear anything
electrical being started in the garage. Everytime the central air (heatpump)
turned on, I could hear the interference in my system and see it on the TV
screen.
There might be more sophisticated and less expensive ways of dealing
with your problem. Mine answer cost me about $200 before I added the second
box. But in looking at the options I choose this as I now know I will never
have to worry about this particular part of my system again.
Please let us know what you decide, how it works and what it costs,
here in the Echo. This is a problem we all face to one degree or another and
an area of great interest to many. Your solution can be added to the lessons
learned file.
Cheers, John
