  Did you notice the 14% swing *towards* Bob Carr in the by-elections?
He actually *WON* a seat (Grafton) from the National Party! This is
unbelievable. By-elections usually swing 5% *away* from the government.
It looks like a real vote-catcher, eh? The Counntry Party opposed the 
gun-law changes and got their arse kicked in a big way.

  Armstrong (Nat leader) was quoted in the Sunday Tele as saying that
the gun-loonies had bitten the hand that fed them by voting against
him in the by-election. This would have been Saturday night.

  By Sunday afternoon, he had changed his tune. Someone with a brain
had worked out that the gun-nuts voted National alright, but most of
the traditional National voters had gone the other way. Armstrong was
saying that he was appalled by how Bob Carr was dilly-dallying instead
of passing these vicious gun laws the Nationals wanted! ROFL! He's
realised that the gun-lobby is a *negative* vote, and he's now running
with the pack.

  I wonder if the other pollies will se the same thing in the NSW
election results... if they don't, they'll be out of business.

  I almost feel sorry for the poor gun-crazies.
