Okay, *now* it's solved.

1: Autoupdate has to be enabled to get the new security dialog.

2: Autoupdate runs and installs a stealth patch that updates the above.
There is no notification to the user other than an event log entry.  (it
doesn't show up in the updates installation history! So it's not the update
you suggest.)

Here's the event log entry:
