Ouch! That's really bad news. After all seen-by checking was invented just
to prevent dupe loops.
Yeah, well, I've always advocated using a first wall that just forwards
messages intact -- and then if necessary export it to the BBS in question.
That's how I use my 2:203/0 admin number. It passes through every single
message untouched. Some of it to my "proper" BBS, some of it to my JamNNTPd
server.
SquishMail has worked perfectly OK during some two decades in this setup.
Had I chosen to do it all via my BBS package, with it's home-made message
storage, I can assure y'all that it would have caused a LOT of problems.
Ergo: if you pretend to be a part of the FTN mail moving business, stay
clear of any mail processor that depends on it's own propitiatory message base.
