Hi, Martin. You remind me of the obvious - and it is VERY appreciated. :) You are absolutely correct in every aspect. I have painted myself into a corner - and now I must radically change what I do - in the future. Which is EXACTLY what I intend to do for my newer products - now that there are professional alternatives available to me that were not available before - namely a professional version of 'C' and C++. I am making appropiate plans - as you suggest. However, aside from the technical dead end I find myself in, not all is black. I do have some time to paint myself out of this seeming dead end - given enough time. What I intend to do is first make some money selling my DOS versions to the DOS market I believe will be around for some time - several years at least. And during those several years, I intend to move my apps to Windows, and then WindowsNT - basically a re-compilation and a bit more for the PM's using the Pascals available and becoming available. That will expand the market I can sell my apps to during the next few years to Windows and WindowsNT. I now hear there are a couple of 32-bit Pascals that have recently come out - one being in beta for OS/2. Again, this will help me out greatly because only re-compiles are necessary. What I hope will really be a great help is selling my apps so I can get the money I need to hire the professional help I will definitely need to keep up with all that is going on - with all the new operating systems for the PC's. The only thing I think I have going for my business is the unique quality of my apps - no one even comes close. My apps has a very wide market and virtually everyone will want one at some point. My apps addresses a very big problem most people have and it has not been addressed professionally. At least this is what my research has shown to be true over the last ten years. Fortunately for me, there is a OS/2 and a WindowsNT which will be compatible with running 16-bit DOS apps so people *can* use my apps. They probably would prefer my apps to be 32-bit and so it shall come to be. But at least there is some distance for maneuvering before the "dead end" hits me in the "face" - businesswise. :) What do you think? BTW, I not only do not mind your constructive criticism, I welcome it. I can think of no better way for another professional to express their sincere desire to be of real help then calling out the facts as they see them. IMHO, your comments demonstrate your professionalism and your true generosity of spirit in wanting to help. I can only hope more people like you are around and are not intimidated by some false sense of values which can only mislead everyone of us. I avidly seek the professional opinions of people like you when I come to this echo. I try to help others in a similar professional spirit. God Bless.
