* Joerg Desch got everyone's attention by mumbling this to Martin Pollard:

JD> I've bought the book two weeks ago. The book covers the PM programming

Oh, I'm not concerned about what it *does* have. Given Petzold's about-face
attitude on OS/2, I'm concerned about what it *doesn't* have. Petzold is so
orgasmic over Windows NT that this update to his OS/2 book smacks of "doing
it simply for the money" (or out of some contractual obligation). As such,
there's a good chance that the book is far less than it could have (or should
have) been, if Petzold simply rushed the book out the door in his haste to
retreat to his NT "safe haven". (It's a real shame that someone
like Petzold
was so easily brainwashed by the Microsoft propaganda machine; he used to be
one of OS/2's most ardent supporters.)
MP> considering that SOM is at the heart of OS/2 2.x.
JD> I agree! But IMHO, SOM is such a complex 'thing', that it must be
JD> object of a seperate book.
Perhaps, but not even a *mention* of SOM? That's just one of those things I
was talking about, vis-a-vis "incomplete".
