If you name it, there is another 'server cluster' (beta) from IBM for OS/2. 

Do you think 'IBM DCE for OS/2' could be a solution?  It's a more distributed 
system than LAN Server itself and had a long time in the market.
There is documentation about DVE on the DevCon CDs but a little too much to 
read it until dawn.
