Dallas has some pretty heavy traffic, construction, and exhaust fumes. My
solution to all three problems is simple: ride a bicycle. That reduces
traffic congestion, the need for construction, and exhaust fumes.

There needs to be more battling on commuter trains and busses. It is
absolutely ridiculous to try to combat air pollution and make it impossible
for folks to use bicycles to get to and from mass transit terminals.
LR> What do you use your bike for? Do you commute or just ride and ride
LR> and ride?? :-) It's winter here now and there's little/no biking going
Actuall a bit of both. I ride to work about four times a week (unless its
freezing), to church a couple of times a week, to the barber shop and grocery
store, and sometimes to bicycle club meetings and rides. I also try to ride
during my lunch break about three times a week, eliminating a drive to the
gym for a workout. That directly impacts on my automobile usage. And then I
will do club rides and bicycle rallies. In the summer I'll be getting in a
couple hundred miles a week.

LR> it gets us together and keeps us moving.
Our winters are pretty mild, but we aren't really prepared for it. I don't
have good cycling clothes for when it drops below freezing and we seem to
have drawn a lot of that lately. And the club activities really slow down,
partly because of the weather, but also 5:30 pm sunset pretty well precludes
evening rides.
