Hi Davey,

I have had bad luck with com drivers in ECS 1.1 the
SIO 2k drivers don't work at all for me, and on my
desktop with an Actiontec Call Waiting PCI modem, the
com.sys that came with ECS for some reason only did
500 to 700 cps, where my warp 4 installation gave me
4200.

I copied over com.sys from warp 4 to the ECS
installation and got my 4200 cps back.  It may not be
your only problem, but maybe part of it.

Also after a lightning strike at work, I found out the
phone company had some small pc board installed in the
connection outside my office, it fried and messed up
the phones. You might check for that also. The phone
tech pulled the board and didn't replace it, saying it
was something to allow the phone company office to
check the line between them and my service entrance.
