DD>Hello all, I saw in Birdbreeder Magazine a picture of a pair of blue
ollar
DD>macaws and I was amazed by their beauty. The picture is in their july 1995
DD>issue on page 14 in case anyone wants to look it up. I was wondering if
DD>theres anyone here that has them. I want to learn how difficult they are
o
DD>fing and whats their average price. They look similar to the blue and gold
DD>but with anoticeable difference. I have a female pet scarlet macaw.
DD>Therefore I know what I'll be getting into if I ever purchase one or two
f
DD>these.
DD>Also, does anyone have a book called, Encyclopedia of Macaws? If so does
t
DD>bring pictures of these macaws and also of the suposed to be extinct Cuban
DD>Macaw? I want to order this book but I would like to hear good about it
DD>first if possible.
Do you mean the Blue Throated Macaw from Bolivia? Where the B&G has
black under his chin the Blue throated has a big swath of blue. They are
a little smaller than the B&G. A friend outside of Gainseville, Fl
bought a pair for around $5000.
I think I have that book, I'll have to look. Who is it by? I know I
have one by Al Decocteau and one by Rosemary Lowe. But I loaned that one
out and can't seem to get it back.
I know Howard Voren has done a lot of research on the extinct Cuban
macaw. The Cuban is the only one they have a skin for (so they know what
it looked like) even though it is extinct.
