When TOTAL gets up around 1250-1500 (don't know exactly where it
goes by quick), the REXX program kicks out and gives me an error.
Is this something on my part?

Sorry for the delay in replying. I have been off-line for a few days
reconfiguring my system.
Without knowing what kind of error you are referring to, let me offer a
debugging technique that may work for you.
At the most convenient position in your program, insert the following:
!tr! = VALUE( 'TRACE',,'OS2Environment' )
if !tr! '' then
do
TRACE( !tr! )
end
Then, to run the program with tracing, set the 'trace" environment
variable with:
set trace=i
Invoke your program with:
program 2>systrace
You will have a LARGE file, named SYSTRACE that will show you where your
program was when it died. DO NOT try this unless you have adequate space
on your hard drive.
