Hello Jeff!
Wednesday May 29 1996, Jeff Jenkins babbled to Stephen Lowery:
 -> The best oversampling rate of ANY deck I looked at (32x) and has good
clean
 -> power (30w per channel).
32 bit?????? I sell the same units and I didn't know that. Hell, my $650
Clarion units don't have that. I'm going to check out what the manuals say
tomorrow about this.
 -> speakers. And at around $200 you can't beat it. I was looking at buying
 -> either the Panasonic or one of the new Denon's and chose the Panasonic
 -> based on features, as well as being one third the price of the Denon.
Features are nice sometimes.
 -> You can buy a more expensive system but for my money the Panasonic wins
 -> hands down.... and I'm somewhat of an Audiophile in training.... Never
 -> thought I'd get a (yech!) Panasonic but it sounds fantastic and no
problems
 -> so far.
Tell ya what, I'd get a little more training. (no pun intended!) I've put
that Panasonic system in vehicles and have heard cassette players that
sounded as good as their CD does. I had a KDC-9000 Kenwood and thought it
was a nice unit. It had the midrange adjustment and some nice features with
it. But when I got the 9175 Clarion CD Player I thought I was in heaven. It
has 6 RCA outs, ID-Logic, support for multiple changers, a non-glare display,
and alot more.
 -> You'll need a kit to get it to fit in the GM opening (around $20 at
 -> Wal-Mart) and a wiring harness to hook it up with (about $15). Don't be
 -> afraid to do do it yourself, it's not that big of a deal. Just take your
 -> time and read all the instructions and think over the steps in your head
 -> before you actually start doing it. About the only tools you'll need are
a
 -> screwdriver, knife or wire stripper, and some electrical tape.
Audiophile Tip for the Day:
Get a good set of crimpers and get some crimp-caps. Lose the electrical
tape. If you can find a reputable car stereo store, get the American
International car stereo install kits instead of the Wal-Mart kits.
Chances are that he'll need a 9/32 nutdriver (I may be a little off on the
size) and an antenna adapter as well. The 96 GM trucks don't take the same
conventional kits as the 85-94 trucks. I'm unsure about the 95s though.
