BL> You're both being far too hard on Paul. He's just changed his whole
BL> computer and operating system, and was only down for an hour or so. He
BL> just lost his whole hard drive, and even then he didn't lose mail.
BL> When the SPCUG did a similar thing with OS/2 it was stuffed for a
BL> fortnight.
Well thanks for that Bob! I do try very hard, but I also don't want
to be in a position where it's skin off my nose to run a BBS, so as
long as I can do my usual upgrades, use my fax modem to actually
receive faxes etc, then you get what I can achieve with time. If I
had a dedicated computer, multiple lines with different brand modems
on them, it might be a different story, and I would be one of the
many pay-boards around. I don't want to do that, because I don't
believe you should have to pay for mail, a sysop should be able to
run the system so that it's no skin off his nose.
BL> Actually, I think Paul's performance is a miracle. As soon as he
BL> dies I'm going to start praying to him.
I can't remember losing any mail, although I do remember once losing
some mail, and then sending people some raw packets or something to
make up for it, and I remember sending out some mail out-of-spec to
points before, so they would have had to use a hex-dump to read it.
I really do try! BFN. Paul.
