To detect duplicates, you need to keep a record of messages previously
received.  The way to do this is to have a sub that they are imported in to...
that sub does NOT have to be available to users on the BBS (you can set the
access ARS to "DELETED" for example), but it must store them or there's no
possible way to detect a duplicate.

Passthrough does exactly what it says on the tin.
