Just as a followup to see if indeed sbbsecho does check for dupes, here is a
segment of a log where I import a pkt from Janis and send one to Bj%rn...
My log... (there are two dupes in the pkt from Janis..)

As you can see it cearly states only 5 were imported. Dupes were tossed in the
beginning before a pkt to 2:203/0 was created.
Now, I asked Bj%rn to send me a copy of his logs for this pkt...
+ 28 Jan 23:08:25 SQSH Begin, Squish/386 v1.11 (mem=15360K - main=02b10010)
# 28 Jan 23:08:25 SQSH Tossing/scanning msgs from S:\Fd\Netfiles (secure)
* 28 Jan 23:08:25 SQSH 28170641.Pkt, 01/28/16, 17:06:40, by ff 2.33
- 28 Jan 23:08:25 SQSH Orig=1:266/404.0, Dest=2:203/0.0, Type=2+
: 28 Jan 23:08:25 SQSH FIDONEWS (Toss=0004 Sent=0052)

+ 28 Jan 23:08:29 SQSH End. Toss=5 (1/s), sent=63 (15/s), mem=15360K
As you can see he only received the 5 messages and no dupes from my system....
therefore sbbsecho does indeed check for dupes before it imports into it's
msgbase and doesn't forward them. Now, I'm not sure on passthru's as Steven
states.
Enjoy..
