Yes, but do it anyway temporarily just to test and prove what the
problem is. You can live without a burner for a few days. If it is the
BIOS, the mobo maker needs to know if it doesn't already.

I just checked and found a new BIOS update for mine since last I
checked. Maybe there is one for yours too?
