MD> I DL'd a file from AOL of graphics with the .pcx exten-
MD> tion. Exactly where in GWE do I store these files?
You can store them anywhere. My suggestion: if you only have
a single hard drive partition (C:), create a GRAPHICS subdir-
ectory in the root (C:\) and then create subdirectories for
different kinds of images (i.e.: ANIMALS, BCKGRNDS, COMPUTERS,
whatever... and sort the images into those subdirectories e.g.:
C:\GRAPHICS\ANIMALS). You use GeoDraw to import the images in-
to Ensemble, and you can then use them in GeoDraw or use the
clipboard to transfer them to GeoWrite or Scrapbook, etc.
GeoDraw will default to looking for the images in your Ensemble
DOCUMENT directory, so you might want to make the GRAPHICS sub-
directory a sub of the DOCUMENT directory as an alternative.
MD> Also, the entire picture did not come out, only a half
MD> screen... is there anyway of getting the complete pic-
 MD> ture?
I'm not sure what the problem is here, without seeing the
file itself. It COULD be a bad file to start with.
MD> Last but not the least, can .pcx be converted to a
 MD> .bmp/.gif/.jpg?
Yes. In fact, Ensemble should be able to handle a conver-
sion to .bmp or .gif... unfortunately NOT .jpg. Ensemble can
also work with .tif's and .clp's, plus there is a utility
from Marcus Groeber that will allow importing of .cgm's and
.hpl's or whatever (the .hpl's are CAD files).
