Quoting David Calafrancesco to all in a message dated 04/25

This problem caused me to get (and register) Injoy, so it was almost a
'good thing' for me!
The problem has been fixed, which took about a week, since the fix had
to be implemented at every PoP. Seattle was fixed first, late on the
24th of April.
As for breaking DOIP, well, it also broke Windows CE. Users of the
Phillips Velo, Casio Cassiopea, etc. had exactly the same problem as
users of OS/2's DOIP.
I almost quit Worldnet over this, but they responded appropriately to my
first complaint (on April 22nd) in their worldnet.help.service-issues
newsgroup. Those who called the tech support number or sent email to
their tech support found out how worthless that is. Mention OS/2 and
they pull out the mantra "we don't support OS/2." Mention anything else
and they want you to start reconfiguing your software.
The advantage of using the newsgroup is that there are several AT&T reps
whose job it is to respond there, and any response they give will be
seen by many people besides the person complaining. The way to get
support with AT&T is to find the right pressure-point, then apply
insistent pressure, without ranting.
The reps in the newgroup have been good about pursuing both problems
I've presented, and both were resolved to my satisfaction. I've never
seen them pull out the "we don't support..." mantra.
Having said all that, I'm not trying to convince anyone to stay with
AT&T. I expect to be leaving within a month or so if they don't soon
provide a higher bandwith than my usual 26.4k connection. In June
they'll start providing two months of free email forwarding to anyone
who quits, as part of their service challenge to the rest of the
industry. I'll wait that long.
