Hi Bill,
BP> No, didn't get your msg in the Travel echo, there where only two msges
BP> in it. A very quiet echo. Let you know when a msg from you arrives at
 BP> the Travel echo.

I'm about ready to give up on that echo and ask another sysop to get it.
BP> At the moment I'm subscribing to three BBSes, took me a while to find
BP> one, that is reliable, and not more time off line then on. But now
BP> I'll drop the others, having found one I'm happy with....:))

I use 3, too. For the most part, I'm happy with all of them, but only
one gives me Internet e-mail access compatable with my offline reader.
I'd like to have a backup for e-mail.
BP> Some are really keen mountain bikers, never thought they would have a
BP> go riding down and up the Grand Canyon. We where there in spring 1995,
BP> there was still a bit of snow about. We walked down to Indian Garden a
BP> very enjoyable walk. Coming to think of it, this particular trail,
BP> Bright Angel, if I remember rightly, must be about six foot wide, and
BP> well maintained. Very inviting to a mountain biker....hehehe

Yes, when we were there we went down the Bright Angel trail a little
way. About 30 min.--just enough to get the feel of it. I think it's
the easiest trail in the park and I could see where some venturous soul
might want to try a mtn bike, but for me it would be suicide. :-)
BP> The northern part of Wisconsin appears to be a very wild part, with
BP> many forests and reserves. Seems to be not to far away from where you
BP> are living?.....well on the map anyway:)

Not far if you compare me with Australia, but not a day trip, either.
It's about an 8 hour drive to get to northern Wisconsin from where I
live.
BP> You certainly can have a lot of fun and exercise belonging to this
BP> bike club. I for myself don't belong to a bike club. But now and again
BP> I see a group of riders and would say, they belong to one. As I'm not
BP> working any more, I have the time and opportunity to do things, when
BP> not so many are around and when it pleases me.
Give a club a try if you get a chance. They are a fun loving and
friendly bunch of people who are into healthy lifestyles. And there's
always something going on. We sponsor a century ride in early June that
is the main event of the year. I've never done a century, but would
love to try. First, though, I'd need to get in better shape. :-)
BP> One thing I'll do though, is to have a look into one of the bike mags,
BP> to see what's available.....the time has come, when I have to invest
BP> into a new one. Had to replace the six sprockets as well as the chain
BP> again, but now I realise, that the whole drive train seems to be pretty
BP> well worn, and I just don't like it when it's not working quietly and
Do you want a mtn, road, or hybrid? Are American bikes sold there? I'm
sure you'll get plenty of info in the magazines and here on this echo.
Take care, and I hope your birthday was a good one!
Leah
