Hi, Billy. I think that is the name of the echo - FidoNet - Programming
Jobs - or so I have been informed by someone else. I have no first hand
experience yet. I do have one of local BBS's looking for it but it may
take some time to get since he is in the midst of doing a major upgrade to
his BBS software.

If I hear of any more solid information I will post it here. My impression
now is that this echo will be more specialized for those of us who program
computers. That would be great. As you may already know, Fidonet does
have a JOBS and JOBS NOW echo which has predominately
computer jobs - and programming jobs.

Maybe this other person was referring to these existing Fidonet echos. I don't know.

What seems to be true is that the Jobs listed come from Internet and the
list is incomplete as far as I can determine. That is, not *all* the Jobs
make it to these existing Fidonet echos.

BTW, only one of the these two echos is for Job listings - the other is for
dicsussion purposes only. I keep getting them mixed up since their names
are so close. I think "JOBS NOW" is for listing jobs ONLY and
JOBs is for the discussion on employment in general. Check it out if you
haven't already.

There are some contracting jobs listed - most seem to be for
"permanent employment". Most seem to come from personnel
agencies - "permanent" and/or "temporary" (job
shopping) agencies - some from employers.

While a few contract firms are advertising in the FidoNet echo or showing
up there, the majority still haven't figured out how to get their job specs
to the Internet.

What also seems true is that the companies - or some - have Internet
addresses to which resumes can be sent - but Snail Mail might be more
appropiate and just as timely as I see it right now - even necessary for
most of the job listings. I hope this helps, Billy. Let me know if I can
be of any further assistance, OK? :)

Regards, -= Lou =-
