Hi, Bob!

I don't think it is fair that only RCs vote for a new policy or policy
amendments. It would be fair if RCs votes were proportional to number
of members of their regions. Our people are disappointed by amendment.

AS> BS>> But we must allow for this to complete it's course before

AS>> I believe it will pass. But we'll get a long run for the next
 AS>> amendment too :(

BS> Anything worthwhile is worth waiting for. Remember... we've waited 13
 BS> years for this one.

I remember. But I waited for more conceptual changes of this one.

AS> BS>> Not as I understand it. Ward knows it is important to have
AS> BS>> as many RC's know about and understand the proposal before
AS> BS>> calling an official vote of the RC's. I believe he is close
AS> BS>> to that point now.

AS>> Why RCs ? Do we have a network where RCs define a policy ?

BS> At this stage they do, in that they are the group rsponsible for
BS> deciding whether an amendment proceeds to the balloting phase.
 BS> IE: Initiation.

I think this concept is completely wrong. And I understand why Ward
is trying to pass trough this one. He wants that minority ruled
majority.

AS>> Do you mean you agree to serve as RO/VO for the poll ?
AS>> You know, I'm crazy enough to run the poll :-)

BS> You've been reading FN_SYSOP too much. We don't need polls
BS> at this point... we need to let people (*C's especially) that this
BS> amendment is in progress, and urge them to read and voice their
 BS> opinions on it.

Hm .. You don't need poll, but we (r50 and r46) do need poll, I think.
And we are the real majority of fidonet, you know.

BS> The best we can do now is get as many translations out to them as
BS> soon as we can. I recieved your netmail, and will respond here:
BS> If you have read the Snoose article I wrote, translate that and
BS> sent it to your RC, and ask him to cross-post it in his regional
BS> echos for sysop input, and then netmail Ward with his vote for or
 BS> against a referendum.

I've posted proposal to our regional echo, but one voice of our RC
doesn't matter much according to current practice. And I don't think
that current practice is legitimate one. P4 says about referenda, not
about RCs voting.

Bye, Sinc, Alex
