Yes, or rather, Nice, it was Hardin's "Hang On To A Dream". But now
that you mention it, they also recorded Dylan's "She Belongs To Me",
"My Back Pages" and "Country Pie", the last combined with a portion
of Bach's 6th Brandenburg Concerto. Keith has quite a sense of humor.
KN> 'Course, nothing quite beats a good Hendrix Dylan cover.
No argument there. Even Dylan acknowledges he does a cover version
of Hendrix's "All Along The Watchtower".
And it was the Move that did a fabulous version of Paxton's "Last
Thing On My Mind". Wasn't "Morning Dew" one of Hardin's? Nazareth
and Jeff Beck both did good versions of that one. Which reminds me
that a local rock station morning crew was playing bits of Pat Boone's
60's Vegas arrangements of "metal" songs... The radio personalities
were clearly unaware that Nazareth's was not the original version of
"Love Hurts", but you'd think Boonie would know about the Everly
Brothers, if not Gram Parsons' version. But then again, judging
from the photos and quotes in the paper lately, it's no stretch at
all to believe he might be that clueless.
DMM
... I haven't lost my mind; it's backed up on tape somewhere!
