Most of the airlines just announced that they're getting tough on
carry-ons.  This must've been prompted by people carrying on these HUGE,
wheeled monstrosities and attempting to hurl them into the already
overstuffed overhead compartments.
I think this will have a chilling effect on guitar travel.... while most
electrics will fit into the box widthwise, they'd tend to stick out a
bit.
Otoh, a slim little guitar case (I've been traveling with a soft padded
one) fits in even a cramped space.  It also has a hanger.
That having been said, my overstuffed employer just got into it with an
airline over (I think) having a coat, a briefcase and one other thing.
They wanted him to check one.   I guess they ARE getting tough.
