Silicon isn't a lubricant? Most of WD40 is petroleum distilates, with a perfume
to make it smell like wine dipped cigars, but once that evaporates...I have no
idea what silicon would do to piston walls, but I doubt WD40 deserves the
bashing it receives.

As you may deduct, the kerosene is more or less what the WD would evaporate.
Oil: Likely a better bet than silicon, alas. I think someone else mentioned
that octane boost might be a betterchoice than starter fluid for the first
squirt. True; due to operator error more often than not. Methyl Hydrate, or
Denatured Alcohol makes a good substitue.
