Yes, it needs to be 'reasonably >priced' say 3k range. I've used something like this and while the backup process is painless consider 2 cases for recovery - 1.) Your data needs to be recovered completely. We had to do a complete network restore and the time to restore over the network was quite painful. Be sure you can tolerate the amount of downtime required to restore all data and incremental backups. 2.) A catastrophic event that both severs your network connection and damages the hardware. This is more of a what-if case; I like being able to directly handle backup media - stored in multiple locations. Other than that, we were happy with the solution. Although a full backup is painful, it's good not to go too far between full backups to minimize the number of incremental backups to be restored. The incremental backups also generally don't track files that have been deleted for housekeeping purposes. --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 396/45 106/2000 633/267 |
