Last week I went over to a friends and ended up buying 4x1mb 30pin simms
off him for $55, he threw in an A500 as part of the deal - said it didn't
work, but couldn't remember why it didn't. He was going to give me the A500
even if I didn't buy the ram :)

Thing is, no power supply, so I couldn't check it out without going through
a hassle. Got a power supply off a friend for a few secs and voila! The
A500 booted up to a WB2 "insert disk" screen. The disk drive is
stuffed, so that's as far as I got (now I know why it "didn't
work").

Internal examination reveals its a Rev 6A motherboard with a 1meg Agnus
sitting in there.

Question: Did they ever put 1meg ram on the motherboard in an A500?

Question: Is a Rev 6A board any good for any decent hacking?

Anyway, I got a good source of spare parts now :)

Cheers, __
