I found a good file under the name MODEM503.zip provided in a cd-rom Monster 
Media #14. The actual pgm. COMTEST tests a comport and and IRQs, etc. then 
reports the status as well generates a report for reveiwing. This alone makes 
it a worthwhile addition for anyone using a modem, here is a simple snipet 
from my report.
*NOTE* it seems to use many of S registers and AT cmds for a complete test.
