MM}Hi Karen,
Hiya,
MM} Noticed that you're from Nova Scotia. I was wondering, do you really
}get a thirteen foot tide up there?
At Peggy's Cove we do. We've had quite a few tourists and locals alike
swept off the rocks down there because they underestimate the power and
the "ghost" waves. They come out of nowhere and I figure have the same
kind of impact as a train. And before ya know it, you're being tossed
around the Atlantic.
We were swimming at Fox Point Beach (not too far from Peggy's Cove) and
were facing towards shore, not understanding why the people on the beach
were pointing and screaming, etc. Well, I turned around and all I saw
was GREEN. I got hit by a sneaky wave and got pulled under and banged
against the bottom, rocks, etc, and finally (thank god) got thrown up on
the beach. NOT something I'm likely to forget any time soon!
I guess there's not too many beaches where you are, huh? ;)
