What size? ~8G? I imagine this is expected behavior, as you haven't yet
used LVM or DFSee to assign that space to any partition.

That should be exactly what you want, a 40G drive!

Use the disk manufacturer's software to set the disk size below 32G, but
only if there is some mysterious reason for not wanting to use the whole
device in OS/2.
