JS>She called the cops. He got arrested. She left and divorced him.
JS>He married an American girl. Was it for love? Nope. He paid this
JS>girl's mother $5,000 to arrange the marriage. She did. He beat
JS>this girl three times.

And had not we created the distortions motivating him to do
this by restrictive immigration policies none of the rmainder of this
owuld ever have occured.
You cannot build a monster, release it into the streets, and
then complain about people falling over your fence trying to get out of
it's way.
The monster is restrictive immigration laws.
JS>Or would you like to hear about the 7 month pregnant woman from
JS>Mexico who got convicted for selling cocaine? Or the guy from
JS>Mexico who sexually molested his daughter?

Implying, of course, that such things never happen to
non-immigrants. Have you ever considered that just maybe the laws you
yourself seek to enforce plays and enormous role in motivating such
behaviour?
Take the seven month pregnant woman from Mexico. If she is
illegal she cannot work a normal job, she has no ability to get
maternity leave like an American worker, she probably even fears
seeking medical care or assistance since many agencies are now
reporting illegals to the INS. She can't obtain a driver's license in
many states. She may have even been raped and weas too afraid of the
police to report the crime fearing she would be deported. So now
she's caught selling cocaine, which, BTW, is not a violent act nor one
destroying the property of another. It is simply something a portion
of our society disapproves of.
However, what options was she given? How much can an
individual endure before they do what they must do to survive? We
force these individuals into a corner and then become critical of
their being there.
Remove the restrive immigration policies and she could have
found an honest job not necessitating here involvement in crime just to
survive.

Take the fellow from Mexico who molested his daughter,
though such things happen here as well so merely pointing out an
immigrant case has no special meaning. But ask yourself, where do
these types of things most frequesntly occur? They occur in
dysfunctional families with family members under high stress and family
members missing. Sound familiar to the product of immigration laws?
Family members arrested and deported without warning leaving behind
spouses and children? The constant pressure and fear of arrest?
I'm not saying, in this case, that the child would not have
been molested if we practiced the freedoms we preach, but I can say,
without hesitation, that without the motivations created by this unjust
policy far fewer incidences of crimes such as this would occur.

JS>Or the Irish "widow" who was arrested 13 times for theft and convicted
JS>on 11 of those arrests? Or the Algerian who has been convicted for thef
JS>in four states?

Again, for every non-citizen so arrested there are a dozen
examples of citizens doing the same things. What you are talking about
is a simple cross section of humanity, not something isolated to
immigrants.
JS>Or the Peruvian who has been convicted of theft three times and forgery
JS>once and who has illegally returned after being deported?

Had he not been deported...had he been sentenced and served
his time like any criminal should, maybe he wouldn't keep commiting
crimes.
JS>Or the British girl who got caught trying to smuggle in 2 grams
JS>of crystal meth into the country?

2 whole grams! Wow. No that speed isn't manufactured wholesale
right here in the US and available at virtually every truckstop in
America.
Again though, I still believe if a person wants to use
drugs..let them. It's their business not mine.
JS>What I'm saying is that there are many people who come here that are
JS>anything BUT hard working salt of the earth types.

Some, some in any group, but just because a relative few bad
come along with the good is no reason to deny the good an opportunity.
Most immigrants become hard working, dedicated, and loyal citizens.
There are, of course, exceptions, but there are always exceptions.

                                          Mike
