-> If this is true, the owners of the bookstores should sue the police.
-> Selling
-> 2nd hand books, as long as they aren't illegal duplicates, is perfect
-> Frankly, I don't know if you just made up the above "fact" or if it r
-> happened. If some used bookstore *was* closed down, it wasn't for
-> selling used books. Maybe they were taking books down to Kinkos and
-> making photocopies of whole books and selling them. Or maybe they
-> were selling porn
-> magazines in the backroom. Who knows. But they *didn't* get closed
-> this happened at all, for selling used books.
You can't admit that this happened for the reasons I gave because it
would mean that what you are doing is wrong, illegal and immoral.
-> Wrong. Totally 100% wrong. Copyright law says nothing about 2nd
-> hand sales.
Finally! Finally. At last you have seen the light! Copyright Law says
nothing about second-hand sales because they are EXACTLY the same as
first-time sales! By this admission you admit that you are under the
same laws as first-purchasers. Now, the law that governs that is the
International Copyright Law. It says that a person who purchaes a video
tape has the right to view it in their own home and NO OTHER RIGHTS. No
right to sell it. No right to make a profit off of someone else's
copyrighted product.
