Hey Daniel, the easiest way to that is to use modified scales.  This means
that use, for example, a regular pentatonic scale with a few different notes.
Obviously, you need to use the particular key to make it fit. Say you want to
solo over Amaj7 type of chord progession use a Lydian Modified Pentatonic
Scale which consists of (A,B,C#,E,E#).  It'll fit perfectly since a Amaj7
chord consists of (A,E,G,C#,G,A).  Plus it'll sound a little exotic.
