RPI means Rockwell Protocol Interface, for the braindead, and the USR Winmodem, whilst also requiring software for its bit-stripping, is still NOT an RPI modem, which just happens to have been what we were discussing. And no, I don't think that ANY software-based EC modem is forgivable, and I hope that USR lose heaps because of theirs. But then what do I care anyway, when I run a shitbox Courier with HARDWARE EC.
