Hello Cindy.
To begin with my male is a proven breeder but unforunately all three
eggs were unfertile. It was with another hen, she died shortly after I
took the bad eggs and nest box out of their cage. She was on the plump
side so she was a little unsure on her feet. So that's how come I had to
get him a another hen. My grey was/is too young to mate. So I thought I
would get a luthino she has faint little white lines on her tail on
bottom. But I guess that since the hen grey was already her when his
first mate died and he knew that she was gone for good he became
attached to the grey. Because when the first hen was alive he would pay
no attention the younger hen which he is with now.I hope I am not
confusing you.But I bought the luthino hen they lady I got her from said
that she was a proven breeder? The thing is how do I go about finding
her a cock that she will like. Will I have to find a pet store that will
let me exchange them until I find one that she will like. We plan on
moving within the next two months so there is no way that I will plan on
even trying to breed any of my birds. It probably won't even be tried
until the end of this coming summer so my youngest hen should be over a
year old then. And I am sure that my male will teach her anything that
she needs help with. He was and still is a protective little thing. And
when Spike (my Youngest hen) isn't around him in the cage he gets very
loud. But as soon as she gets in the cage he is happy as can be.And thank
you for answering my post. Even though I have gone to the library and
done all kinds of research and bought all kinds bird books. I am still
finding new things out all the time. Like the bald spot on the back of a
luthino by the crest is hereditery.sp Well I really would like to
continue to talk to you about these lovely little creatures. And I agree
with you about not caring if they are hybrid or mixed. They are still
unique for themselves not their breed. Their hybrid status doesn't have
a thing to do with how smart they are.Well thats enough for me.ttyl
