OK I see. And there are people who still believe in MS-DOS (and it's 'viru=
s free'). Dustbin is probably one of them.
I've never had a serious problem with viruses in Windows NT or subsequent v=
ersions. Sometimes you do get software driver issues that require a rollba=
ck, so I backup every two weeks and data more frequently. Also on occasion=
my PC will freeze (no mouse, no nothing) on a porn site due to I suspect e=
ither Flash or equivalent not working properly (which I try and keep up to =
date) or some virus trying to take over the OS and Windows shutting it down=
.. On my BIOS I've checked the 'prevent buffer overruns' that AMD's bios mo=
therboards have, not sure if it helps but supposedly it's for a sort of har=
dware anti-virus protection. I use just Windows Defender for my AV.
If you're really paranoid about protection I guess you could surf the net u=
sing some small market share OS like Linux from a Windows Virtual Machine, =
like Oracle's VirtualBox.
