You would be surprised at the number of people in the world that
still use and are happy with 8088 and 80286 machines. My next door
neighbor is still in love with his Commodore 64. I can't even
talk him into a PC of any XXX86. BTW, I have a Pentium and so you
can't count me in on the 8088 and 80286 stats.
Now, just so you don't feel badly. I will agree that the new
buyers are buying 486 and small Pentiums. You're right as rain on
that one. But the "base" is still 386 and below, I'll bet. The
majority of BASIC compiler users are still probably using QB45, but
I don't - anymore. Some of us learn and advance and use PowerBasic
and its derivatives and some of us don't. My best friend still
loves QB45 because of the damned editor in in. ANd yes, i got him
to buy PB32....but he won't use it!! :-0
I think $25 for any compiler that creates another program from
source code is reasonably priced, if not, even, cheap. Peace.
