   That is what I ahve in my setup, the clay length of piping.

 Ditto ! I might have to replace mine soon. The colour code is the same
 up north of the 45th parallel. With the plastic pipes, there should be
 no more root ingress into the pipes, unless they get broken by a ground
 move.
